That is why Hotel Okura Amsterdam is continuously working on the development of our employees. In addition to a number of permanent training courses, there are also extensive opportunities for training that contribute to your professional and personal development. We offer an extensive program of training courses, development programs, workshops and e-learning modules.

As a new team member of Hotel Okura Amsterdam you start with an introduction training. After the introduction you get a training on-the-job and a number of practical training sessions. We have a half-yearly changing training calendar, examples of training included in this year's training calendar are Lean, Complaint Handling, Up-selling and a Leadership program.

We encourage our employees to continue to develop themselves, therefore there are ample opportunities to develop yourself in your current job, or by moving to another position or department within Hotel Okura Amsterdam. Within Hotel Okura Amsterdam we give our employees a lot of freedom, for example we give chefs the opportunity to prepare for competitions and colleagues will provide help with the preparations. In addition, our suppliers regularly give workshops to expand the knowledge and skills of our employees. Examples of workshops are a Barista workshop or a wine workshop.



As an employee of Hotel Okura Amsterdam you make the difference for the stay of our guests. We value our employees and that is why we offer a comprehensive package of terms of employment.

For an Apprentice, the salary depends on your age and level is between 1.015,17 euros and  1.691,95 euros gross per month.

Your salary is in accordance with the Hospitality Labour Agreement (Horeca CAO) and is divided on the basis of your position and your work experience. Below you will find the salary overview per function group, in the vacancy we state the function group:

At Hotel Okura Amsterdam we find it important to take part in activities in addition to working with colleagues. At Hotel Okura Amsterdam we do volunteer work together with the colleagues. We organized a burendag, painted at a petting zoo and regularly assist colleagues in the ministry at a benefit gala. There is also the possibility to attend a workshop. Every employee can organize a new workshop or event. Like participating in the annual Dam tot Damloop or at the beach volleyball tournament, you can also take part in the Staff Society association which, for example, organize the annual staff party.

That is why we conduct an annual employee satisfaction survey to provide insight into how satisfied our employees are and to further improve the current work situation of our colleagues, we achieved an 8!
