What can you expect?

The Sales department strives to achieve the optimal revenue mix across hotel rooms, restaurants, banqueting and the spa.

As Sales Manager, you are the commercial face of Hotel Okura Amsterdam within your assigned market. You are responsible for managing and developing a B2B account portfolio, with a strong focus on the MICE and Corporate segments. Depending on business needs, your assigned market and segments may vary.

You are responsible for achieving revenue targets by expanding existing business and actively generating new opportunities. You closely monitor market developments, identify commercial opportunities and translate them into tangible results. With your commercial insight and strong network, you contribute to the continued growth of Hotel Okura Amsterdam.

Your main responsibilities

• Manage and further develop key accounts within your assigned market and segments.
• Proactively generate new business and achieve revenue targets.
• Develop and execute sales action plans aligned with market trends and forecasts.
• Monitor market trends and identify commercial opportunities, translating them into targeted sales activities.
• Contribute to the hotel's sales plan, sales strategy and departmental budget based on market developments.
• Drive revenue through acquisition, client visits, sales calls, telemarketing and other proactive sales activities.
• Identify and follow up on new business leads using available sales and CRM tools.
• Negotiate rates and prepare contracts within agreed commercial guidelines.
• Plan and execute promotional activities, including trade fairs, roadshows, FAM trips, mailings and networking events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners and other stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate CRM data, account information and periodic sales reports.
• Support commercial projects as directed by the Director of Sales.

You will work closely with the Sales & Marketing team and other hotel departments. Together, we achieve the best commercial results while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The position is based on Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00. Depending on events and client appointments, occasional evening or weekend work may be required. You are also willing to travel internationally when required by the role.

You bring:

• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent level of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in a commercial sales role.
• Excellent command of the English language, both spoken and written (an additional language is an advantage depending on your assigned market).
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• An independent, proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.
• A proven track record of achieving commercial targets.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Flexibility regarding working hours and a willingness to travel internationally.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and preferably Opera Sales & Catering or a comparable CRM system.
• Basic numerical and analytical skills.
