Revenue Manager

Hotel Okura Amsterdam is entering an exciting new phase, with a renewed room and suite product, a sharpened luxury positioning and a strong commercial ambition for the coming years. To support this transformation, we are looking for a commercially driven and analytically strong Revenue Manager with solid experience in luxury hospitality.

This is a key role in supporting the commercial repositioning of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. The Revenue Manager is responsible for optimising room revenue, profitability and market share through strategic pricing, inventory management, forecasting, budgeting and distribution control.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with commercial instinct and understands the dynamics of a five-star luxury hotel environment. Experience with SynXis, Duetto and Opera is required.

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize the hotel's total revenue and market share, with a focus on room and banquet revenue.
  • Improve the business mix (e.g., pick-up, releases, no-shows).
  • Maximize profitability per channel and direct bookings to the most profitable channels, working closely with the Marketing department.
  • Analyze past business performance and gain insights into market dynamics to make informed decisions for the future.
  • Prepare ongoing forecasts, including explanations for any changes.
  • Analyze, monitor, and reduce distribution costs.
  • Provide detailed information to the organization on past and future booking activities, demand changes, and business mix.
  • Deliver detailed insights into the current booking situation.
  • Develop short-, mid-, and long-term commercial strategies in collaboration with other team members.
  • Review all RFPs for groups & events and discuss acceptance, pricing strategy, and distribution with the Director of Groups & Events and the Director of Sales.
  • Yield management of room revenue in line with established targets.
  • Analyze data and translate findings into concrete actions for commercial and operational departments.
  • Set and achieve ambitious KPIs and report on results.
  • Support further technical improvements to enhance efficiency within the commercial team.
  • Assist with E-Commerce-related tasks, including conversion optimization, pre-arrival upselling, and meta-search optimization.
  • Take functional ownership of various systems such as the Revenue Management System, CRS (including Channel Manager), Booking Engine, and Business Intelligence solutions.
  • Work weekend shifts (once per quarter).
  • Closely collaborate with other departments, including the Commercial Director, Sales, Groups & Events, Marketing & Communications, and Reservations.

Working Days & Hours

Preferably, you are available five days per week. Working days and hours are Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 17:00.

Who are you?

  • You work accurately and have strong analytical skills.
  • You have 3-5 years of experience in revenue management.
  • You have excellent communication skills and are skilled in building relationships.
  • You have strong decision-making abilities and good judgment.
  • You monitor progress and set measurable goals.
  • You are results-oriented, precise, and innovative.
  • You have a strategic vision and the ability to think long-term.
  • You speak fluent English; fluency in Dutch is a plus.
  • You have a luxury mindset.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred but not required.
