What can you expect?

The Food & Beverage team is responsible for providing exceptional service and creating an unforgettable culinary experience for our guests. As a Waiter/Waitress, you are responsible for providing high-quality service in our Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka and our Yamazato Restaurant, both known for their refined Japanese culinary experiences.

As a Waiter/Waitress, you are responsible for taking orders, serving guests, handling payments, and keeping the restaurant clean and presentable. You ensure that our guests feel welcome and that the service meets the high standards of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. You work together with colleagues from various cultures and contribute to a professional and hospitable atmosphere within the restaurant.

Your main tasks are:

• Welcome and serve guests in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner, according to standard operating procedures;
• Take guest orders and ensure correct and efficient communication with the kitchen and colleagues;
• Maintain contact with guests and respond to their requests, questions, and wishes to ensure that high standards are delivered;
• Handle guest payments in a correct and efficient manner;
• Ensure a clean, well-maintained, and presentable restaurant and contribute to a pleasant ambiance;
• Work closely with colleagues and other departments to ensure an optimal guest experience.

You will work according to a stable work schedule and are flexible in your availability. You are also available to work on holidays.

What do we offer?

• Contract: 1 year, with the possibility of extending. We want you to stay!;
• Salary: Group 4. Minimal €2.346,12 – this is one scale higher than a regular waiter!;
• Bonus: 1 week salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit) level and you get a minimum total score of successful in your yearend evaluation;
• 8% holiday allowance (pro rata);
• 25 vacation days per year (pro rata);

• After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest!

What are we asking?

Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience;
• Must be able to work in a high-pace and dynamic operation and handle multiple tasks at once;
• Is in possession of refined verbal and written communication skills in English;
• Is flexible and willing to work according to different work schedules;
• Has a hospitable attitude and a passion for guest satisfaction;
• Proficient in basic computer skills;
• As part of the pre-employment screening, you will be asked for a minimum of two positive references.
