What can you expect

Sazanka Restaurant is a Japanese Teppanyaki Restaurant where Chefs prepare the best quality fish, meats and vegetarian dishes on a hot iron griddle. Sazanka Restaurant is open from 18:30 until 22:00 and closed on Wednesdays. Guests can also book for group lunches with a minimum group size of 10 people.

As a Teppanyaki Chef, you demonstrate the cooking technique of grilling dishes on the iron griddle at a disciplined high quality manner. You are familiar with Japanese cuisine and therefore an ambassador of the Japanese culture. You possess thorough knowledge of the unique preparation, cooking and presentation methods of the Japanese kitchen and you are able to explain the background information and meaning when needed. One of the goals is to be work in a team of enthusiastic colleagues where you can further develop yourself.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Cook in front of guests using the Teppanyaki style of cooking
  • Monitor and check the quality, readiness, taste, texture, colour of food items;
  • Judge the used ingredients on quality, freshness and preservation;
  • Guard the quality of the work output;
  • Oversee the hygiene and cleaning instructions;
  • Mise en place duties; washing, cutting, cooking;
  • Cleaning of materials, machines and equipment;
  • Cleaning of the kitchen according to HACCP;
  • Storing of fresh food items according to HACCP;

What do we offer?

  • Contract: 1 year contract with the possibility of extending
  • Salary: Group IV. Click HERE for the salary scale 
  • Bonus: 1 week salary when the hotel reaches the budgeted GOP (Gross Operating Profit) level and you get a minimum total score of successful in your yearend evaluation
  • 8% holiday allowance (pro rata);
  • 25 vacation days per year (pro rata).

  • Study budget of €1.000
  • After obtaining the probationary period, you will receive an overnight stay with breakfast as a gift (2 people), so that you can experience the hotel as a guest!

What are we asking?

Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

  • You have abundant interest to learn Japanese cooking skills and Japanese culture
  • You have at least have 2-3 years experience in the kitchen
  • You are creative and like to come up with new ideas;
  • You are fluent in English, both orally and written;
  • Japanese language skills are not a requirement, but is an advantage;
  • You have an interest in working in a multicultural environment
