Senior Engineer

To ensure our guests that everything is in perfect condition, we are looking for an enthusiastic colleague to strengthen our technical service team. What to expect
The engineering department is responsible for the maintenance of Hotel Okura Amsterdam and solving faulty issues in the property. A 5 star hotel of this size is a city itself. From hotel rooms to the offices and refrigerator lights to the 150,000 liters of water in the pool. Every area and facility must be in top technical condition.

As an Senior Engineer, you resolve technical issues and faults by looking carefully at the situation. Preventive measures are also carried out, to make sure that such faults are avoided. Moreover, you will also support the Banqueting department with technical aspects when building and breaking down events. Your main tasks will be:

• (Preventive) maintenance and repair work in the hotel;
• Resolving issues reported by guests and colleagues;
• Performing inspections;
• Completing reports, inspection lists and taking care of the log;
• Reporting damage or dangerous situations.
• Maintain close contact with all departments in the hotel, makes sure technical issues are resolved.
• Notifying difficulties in procedures and/or performances, bringing up ideas for improvement.
• Proper understanding of technical drawings and documentation.

Don't worry you will not be working alone. Besides working in your own team, you will also work with other departments in the hotel. Main working days are week days between 07:00 and 19:00. Occasionally work weekend/public Holiday in case of specific business demand. Has an on-call weekend duty approximately once every 4 weeks, where, depending on the severity of the situation, it can be expected to come to the hotel.
Generally weekend and public holidays are off, however this is a test period of max. one year. You will work 5 days per week, 7,6 hours per day.

What are we asking
Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

• You are a technical all-rounder with work experience (2-5 years) in a similar position;
• You are a technical all-rounder with work experience in a similar position;
• You have an aptitude for engineering and have at least a specialty/diploma in the technical field;
• You have a flexible and independent work attitude;
• You can express yourself in English (speaking), this is because we receive international guests in our hotel.
