What can you expect

The Security department looks after the safety and well being of personal belongings of our guests throughout their stay at Hotel Okura Amsterdam.

As a security officer you work throughout the whole hotel. You assist guests and colleagues in the case of loss or theft of items, you offer first aid to guest and colleagues and you are the main point of contact in a case of calamities. Should the Front Office be busy, you will be there to assist your colleagues in our lobby. Your main tasks will be:

  • Ensuring the safety of both guests and employees;
  • Walking rounds across the different departments and floors;
  • Managing employees in case of calamities;
  • Drafting reports after a shift has ended.

Don't worry you will not be working alone. Besides working in your own team, you will also work with other departments in the hotel. Work is carried out in shifts throughout a 7-day workweek. You will work 5 days a week, 7.6 hours a day. You are also available on public holidays. The shifts are: 07:00 – 15:00, 15:00 – 23:00 and 23:00 – 07:00.

What are we asking?

Of course, we are first and foremost interested in you and what we as an employer can do for you to provide a great workplace. Nevertheless we expect from you that:

  • You are in possession of a security officer certificate (ABM or MBO Beveiliger 2);
  • You have obtained a first aid diploma and / or BHV certificate or are prepared to do so;
  • You have demonstrable work experience (2-5 years) in a comparable work environment;
  • You have a good command of the Dutch and English language (both spoken as written);
  • As part of the pre-employment screening, we will ask for a Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) and a positive reference;
