Conference & Events Trainee

What are you going to do?
As a Conference & Events Trainee, together with the Conference & Events department, you are responsible for creating unforgettable events in one of the most luxurious 5 * deluxe conference departments in The Netherlands. You will take a look at the backoffice of one of the most luxurious hotel products in The Netherlands and you will be able to increase your knowledge in the field of contracts, planning and organizing events. This internship contains a lot of responsibility and offers you the opportunity to develop yourself in a dynamic environment. 

Tasks & responsibilities
  • Organizing and planning conferences and events;
  • Reserving conference rooms;
  • Assisting with contracting parties;
  • The preparation of job sheets;
  • Informing various operational departments about events;
  • Maintaining contact with various contacts;
  • Administrative support of the department.

Working days & working hours
Working days are from Monday to Friday from 09:00-17:00 hours. To assist during events, you sometimes need to work in the evening or weekend. 
It is possible to work 1 day a week on your school assignments or thesis. 

Who are you?
  • You are a student at a Higher Hotel School or a HBO Events study;
  • You have a passion for the hotel industry;
  • You are representative and you have good communication skills;
  • You are guest-oriented and motivated;
  • You are discreet and able to deal with confidential information;
  • You have excellent computer skills;
  • You have a good command of the English language, Dutch is an advantage (both in word and in writing);
  • As part of the pre-employment screening, we will ask for two positive references;
  • You have a flexible and independent working attitude;
  • You have knowledge of Word and Excel.

The Conference & Events department creates unforgettable events for companies and individuals. With 19 different banqueting halls, 300 hotel rooms, 5 restaurants, 2 bars and the Nagomi Spa and Health you can ensure that every wish of our guest is fulfilled. The department is therefore very creative to find a solution for every wish and requirement of our guests. 
From organizing congresses, seminars, benefit galas and fashion shows to intimate dinners or extravagant weddings, no day or event is the same with us! 

Who are your colleagues?
The C&E team consists of a C&E manager, a Senior Account Managers, two Account Managers, a C&E Service Manager, two Event Managers, two C&E Representatives and a C&E Trainee.

What do we offer?
Contract: Trainee contract, minimum of 5 months as per June 2020
Salary:  We offer a decent trainee fee of 500 euros per month based on fulltime
Holidays: For an internship agreement with a minimum of 6 months, you will get 1 day off per month
