Sales Manager

What are you going to do?
In this challenging role you are responsible for developing and maintaining your own accounts within Europe independently, with a strong focus on MICE in the DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland). You are constantly looking for new business opportunities and with your convincing and result-oriented attitude you are responsible for generating income and achieving the planned revenue targets. You are also actively involved in the qualification and follow-up of potential prospects on a daily basis.

Our Sales department proactively strives for the optimal turnover mix of hotel rooms, restaurants, banquet rooms and the spa. To achieve this, you will be given the freedom to build your own accounts/relationships. That is why it is important that you are driven and take initiative. We are looking for a committed and passionate person who is able to shape his/her work independently.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining close relationships within your portfolio
  • Creating and following up on opportunities in order to create new business
  • Meeting revenue objectives with regards to existing and new business
  • Give suggestions on direct selling activities to maximize revenues in managed market segments
  • Give input on the hotel’s sales plan based on the needs of the managed market segments
  • Analyzing and understanding the competition’s market position and strengths and weaknesses for each responsible market segment and successfully direct sales activities against each
  • Actively increasing revenue with the help of external sales calls, telemarketing and in-house sales calls
  • Actively participates in the relevant road-shows, trade fairs and other events in collaboration with our Sales & Marketing partners
  • Work together with other departments to make sure that the service offered to our guests is of the highest possible quality (align with the standards of The Leading Hotels of the World)
  • Report on managed accounts, markets and activities
  • Update the CRM system daily and accurately

Working days & working hours
Working days are from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. You are expected to be flexible with regard to working days and hours since you will sometimes travel abroad to your customers.

Who are you?
Attitude and motivation are more important to us than your work experience. Experience in the Hotel industry is an advantage but not required. What we find important is that you possess the following knowledge and attitude:

  • You are a self-starter that pro-actively attracts work;
  • You are flexible and you have a positive work attitude;
  • You are enthusiastic and driven;
  • You have a good understanding of the English language (both speaking and writing);
  • You have some experience in a commercial position (+/- 2 years).

Sales
The sales department aims to achieve the ultimate revenue mix of rooms, meeting space, restaurants and spa. 

Who are your colleagues?
The Sales team consists of 1 Assistant Director of Sales, 2 Sales Managers, 1 Sales Executive and 1 Sales Coordinator under the direction of the Director of Sales
