Social Media Officer

What are you going to do?
As a Social Media Officer, you manage the social media accounts of Hotel Okura Amsterdam on a daily basis. You create, design and publish creative content with an original approach that allows you to bring the hotel and its restaurants, bars and spa to the attention of the right target group time and time again. You keep an eye on all channels and monitor the reactions that your posts as well as check-ins, tags and shares of our guests encourage. The fun part? You are the go-to person for colleagues when it comes to collecting content, so you can literally be found in every corner of the hotel. Not one day is the same, because you rush from restaurant to spa and back via the rooms to share all ins and outs of Hotel Okura Amsterdam with the outside world. You shoot and edit your photos yourself before starting your own advertising campaign. You analyse the results you achieve to tweak the content calendar, only to make your campaigns even more successful in the future.


Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support M&C manager and M&C officer with creating and maintaining the brand awareness, nationally and internationally, of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, her services, facilities and arrangements for the various target groups
  • Responsible for the image of the brand on all Social Media channels
  • Creating content for Social Media
  • Initiate and manage marketing campaigns through Social Media channels
  • Monitor social media efforts and continue to look for new ideas, stay ahead of our competition at all times, increase followers and fans
  • Know our competition and the trends in the market and generate new ideas
  • Produce monthly reports to collect and analyse Social Media statistics
  • Contribute in the development of products (campaigns, events and arrangements) and the product presentation.
  • Responsible for the preparation and deployment of content and social media roadmap for the short and long term and keep colleagues informed of planned actions.
  • Keep up to date with trends in Social Media
  • Data driven and analytical; advise and make decisions based on data
  • Take care of the internal communication of Social Media
  • Provide each guest/client/journalist with 5* quality service by adhering to the standard of service required by the hotel in accordance with the hotels policies, procedures and objectives.


Working days & Working hours
Working days are from Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week. Flexibility would be expected occasionally to be present during events.


Who are you?

  • You are creative, enthusiastic and have a flexible attitude
  • You master the Dutch and English language to perfection
  • You can express yourself well in word and image (photo/video)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Design is recommended (Photoshop/Indesign)
  • You have experience with advertising on various social media channels
  • You are commercially oriented and have affinity with luxury
  • You have at least 1.5 years of experience in a similar position

Marketing & Communications
The Marketing & Communications department handles the external communication of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, both online and on social media as well as by maintaining good contacts with (international) press and sharing a consistent message in image and text. In short, determining the image and association guests have when thinking of Hotel Okura Amsterdam. But not to worry, you do not have to do this alone! You will be surrounded by 4 enthusiastic M&C colleagues. Campaigns and strategies are set up together, after which everyone contributes to it in their own field of expertise.

The Marketing & Communications team consist of the M&C Manager, M&C Officer, E-commerce Officer and the M&C trainee.
