Concierge

What are you going to do?
Hotel Okura Amsterdam is looking for a Concierge for the Front Office department. In this position you will assist our guests with concierge services including making reservations, make transfer arrangements and solve all kind of problems.
Together with the entire Front Office team you welcome our guests and contribute to a special stay at our hotel. The main goal of the Concierge is to assist our guests efficiently according to hotel standards. The first and last contact with the guests is of the utmost importance and has a big influence on guest satisfaction. In this position you are the first person the guests come in contact with; you welcome our guests and give them information about our hotel and its surroundings.
You assist guests with concierge services including entertainment/dinning bookings, sending and receiving courier packages, transfer arrangements and directing guests within and outside of the hotel. You answer guest questions and resolve guest problems. You are familiar with and performs according to the hotel’s vision and mission statement. Act according to the house rules and knows the hotel’s fire and safety regulations.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Assisting guests in a friendly, efficient and professional manner during their stay at Hotel Okura Amsterdam
  • Ensuring hotel standards that are set with regards to service
  • Getting familiar with individual wishes of our regular guests and VIPs
  • Advising our guests with regards to activities within Amsterdam during their stay
  • Assisting guests to their rooms and informing guests about the room, facilities and Amsterdam
  • Organising transportation, taxi and parking
  • Ensuring a clean lobby and outside area

Working days & Working hours
Work is carried out in shifts during 7 days a week. 
You work 5 days a week, 7,6 hours a day. You are also available to work on public holidays. 
The shifts are as followed 07:00-15:00 hours, 15:00-23:00 hours.

Who are you?

  • You are representative and service minded
  • You are well aware of the possibilities and attractions of Amsterdam
  • You have relevant work experience within a similar position in a similar organisation, preferably within the luxury segment
  • You are excellent in Dutch and English (oral and written)
  • You have a valid driving license
  • You are flexible with regards to working hours

Front Office 
The Front Office team is responsible for welcoming our guests, check in and - out procedures and providing information and service. The Front Office team is also responsible for guiding guests to their rooms and handling guest payments. 

Who are your colleagues?
The entire Front Office team consists of 40 employees including Guest Relations, Receptionists, Conciërges, Bagagists, Doormen and Guest Service Specialists.
